Library Summer activities/reading program

Maddie with an Albino Bermese Python Snake at the library Reptile Program
Makenna volunteered and was able to touch a Bearded Dragon.

The library reading program gave us free coupons for a kids ice cream.

Somedays seem to work out really well even though you didn't plan them that way. Today I took the kids over to the library for one of their summer programs called My reptile guy. I wasn't sure what to expect but figured I would give it a try. I am so glad I did.
We arrived early and were able to get good seats. By 1:30 when the program started it was PACKED. The Reptile guys or in this case ladies showed us a nice variety of reptiles... Iquanas, Boa Constrictors, Russian Tortoise, Bearded Dragon, Tree Snake, an Albino Python and more.
They gave us information on each and at the end of the show opened it to a petting zoo of sorts. It was a lot of fun. The library was great and already had books pulled about the Reptiles for us to check out.
The kids and I also signed up for the summer reading program. Set your own goal and then go back for a free book. Included in the packet for the summer reading program .. Free icecream from Chick Fil A and Free Mr. Freeze from Sonic. When the program was over we checked out our books and headed to Chick Fil A to eat ice cream and read our reptile books in the AC.. Talk about a treat!!
We learned a lot about tortoises, sea turtles, snakes and Iquanas today and it was all free.. Gotta love that!! The libraries are hosting lots of events this summer. Make sure to check out the programs at your local library. Some events included at ours..puppet shows, magic shows, free crafts and more!!
