Dreams Do Come True...

Pulling into the Horse and Rescue Ranch today Carson said "My dream is about to come true". He has been wanting to go to see horses for close to a year now. He absolutely loves them. I planned a trip for our HS group to attend. We were able to donate $150 to the cause by setting it up as a field trip. I think all of the kids had a great time. We toured the farm, visited their small petting area with pigs, chicks, sheep and baby horses, learned about grooming a horse and then got turns sitting on and leading the horses. Such a fun time!!

We were also excited to learn about the opportunities to help the horses and animals. We will be attending a Volunteer Orientation in the next month and then plan to volunteer as a family a time or two a month. Even Jack who is not my outdoor nature boy said at the end "mom I think this would be a great place to come work". I love that the team had a great time today. I love it more that they have hearts for the animals and want to spend their time volunteering. I can't wait to go back.

  1. I LOVE IT!!! The barn is my place of solace, the place that always makes me feel better, I am sooo glad you guys had a great time and will become "barn people" too. The rescue needs lots of friends, I know the Greene Team will make wonderful contributions and the kids learn so much!
