Do you ever have those moments when you are really not expecting anything and then Surprise you are completely delighted and have had the most wonderful time?? Well, today was one of those days for me.

We had the amazing opportunity to go see Oscar Winning Actress Emma Thompson at the Historic Margaret Mitchell House in Atlanta. They held a FREE Members Only Event to promote the book and movie that is coming out next week.

When we arrived they gave us our tickets and asked the children to take a seat in the front on the floor. I noticed that people were handing books to their kids so I sent John to buy one book for the Greeneteam. Thank goodness, I did, because the lady next to me came back after John and said she had bought the last 3 books. Can I tell you how disappointed Makenna would have been if I had not been able to get a book for her. TRAGEDY I tell you.. (Thankfully that did not happen)

The History Center then served tea and biscuits to the children..How cute is that?? Within a minute The Greeneteam came with their three cups of tea and told John and I that they had "accidentally taken something that didn't taste good". We had to laugh out loud. Perhaps I need to start an afternoon tea here at The Lake Vista Home School Academy!!

Moving on.. they did a small reading from the book and then TA DA.. Emma Thompson came in the side door. Let me just say in the tiny bit of time that we were with her she was the most delightful, charismatic, friendly person you would ever want to meet. She did a Q&A for about 25 minutes and when they told her she was on her last question she took at least 10 more!! So nice!! This was how all of the Greeneteam got to ask questions.

Was it fun to work with the children in the movie?? .. Maddie
How long did the movie take to film?... Makenna
Will there be a Nanny McPhee 3??.... Jackson
Where did you film the movie?? ... Carson

After she finished answering the questions, she headed to sign books for everyone. We thankfully were at the beginning of the line and had less than a 10 minute wait. In the meantime John took our tickets and headed to go pick up FREE T-shirts and posters for the kids.. How great is that??

When it was our turn to get the book signed she was so nice. The kids told her how we were "THE GREENES" just like the main characters in the book. Kind of comical that we have the same name. She told me how beautiful the Greeneteam was, signed the book, and then high fived Maddie good bye!!

When we got in the car I looked at the book inscription it said:

For The GreeneTeam
How gorgeous are you??
Love Emma Thompson
XXXX

Thank you Atlanta History Center, The Margaret Mitchell House and especially Emma Thompson for a truly delightful day.
