Frances Meadows is a wonderful water park in Gainesville. I believe it opened last summer. The kids and I have gone several times and always have a great time. There are two water slides. They have an open water slide and an enclosed slide. There is a lazy river/whirlpools that the kids love as well as the dumping stations all around. There are also two pools on the inside of the facility.
Things I love:
They allow the kids to wear life jackets.
There are lifeguards at every station.
Price is not bad $5 in town residents $7 out of town
They have 3 or 4 giant umbrellas that provide a ton of shade.
They have lots of chairs for you to sit in.
So much fun you will want to stay all day.. :)
Things I don't love:
No outside food or drinks allowed. The price is not horrible for items $2 hot dog or pizza, $1 for a lot of the snacks. It does add up though especially when you stay all day which trust me you will want to do.
No readmittance. Once you leave you must pay to reenter.

Lifeguards are VERY strict. It also seems like they take a break every 30-40 minutes and clear the pool for 10 minutes. (not sure if this is a bad thing but you do here a lot of whistle blowing.)
I cannot say enough good things about Frances Meadows. It truly is a place that I can go and relax and let the kids have fun. Well worth the admittance fee.
